In 2019, the London Stock Exchange introduced the Green Economy Mark, a world-first certification, to recognize companies and funds whose products and services contribute to significant environmental goals. B3 Ações Verdes is a system introduced in 2024 by the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3) for listed companies. Its goal is to recognize companies that contribute to environmental protection and climate change mitigation.
Criteria
  • Green Equity Designation: The proportion of company revenue and investments related to green activities must exceed 50%, and revenue from fossil fuel activities should not exceed 5%.
  • Green Equity Transition Designation: The proportion of company investments related to green activities must exceed 50%, and revenue from fossil fuel activities should not exceed 50%.
  • Alignment with EU Taxonomy: Compliance with the classification system outlined in the European Union.
  • Provision of Information on Environmental Objectives and Key Performance Indicators.
  • For companies and funds, over 50% of the annual total revenue must come from products and services contributing to the global green economy.
  • For entities in the pre-revenue stage: 100% of business activities must be green to qualify.
